Cruising Group General Meeting- UPDATE

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailAn inaugural meting held on Tuesday 14th March following the earlier circular was well supported. It has been proposed and generally agreed: a) To make the first cruise in company to either Malahide or Wicklow during May. In the event that weather is very discouraging we might settle for Poolbeg. This is intended to be a 4 hour trip with one overnight. The dates at present considered are May 27/ 28; the tides are very suitable for Wicklow with departure Dun Laoghaire about 12.00h and departure Wicklow 09.00 indicated. At the time of writing the harbour in Wicklow is somewhat compromised with damage to the timbers, ladders gone and a sunken trawler; we will keep the situation under review. Note that the harbourmaster collects berthing fees in Wicklow harbour we await with interest the arrival of a sense of value received in respect of these fees. b) We will host further cruises in June, July and August of longer duration with destination choices to include: Carlingford, Kilmore Quay, Holyhead, Isle of Man, and so on. Information will be circulated and posted here. A Cruising Group sub committee has been elected and is headed by Dermot Hicks and supported by Michael Creedon, Brendan O Regan, Michael Campbell and Brendan Chawke. Any interested members either boat owners or crew who are interested , but were unable to attend the meeting can download and complete the questionnaire here . We would be delighted to hear from any and all who are interested and are open to any suggestions. Dermot Hicks Cruising Group Captain 18th March 2006
