Walking Group

WalkersNYC walking group meets on the first Sunday of each month from October-April at 12 noon in winter and 1 or 2 pm when the clocks go forward. It is open to all members of the Club, their families and children. Even dogs have turned up on occasions!

We do a mix of hill/mountain walks and stay locally at Christmas and the New Year with a Dun Laoghaire/Dalkey walk in December and a town walk in January. We may have tea in the Club after the walk on December 6 (if it does not clash with the Children’s’ party!) Typical walks are such places as Glendalough, Djouce, Crone Wood/Maulin, Kilmashogue, Bray Head, Howth Head, Roundwood Lake, etc. We generally meet within a 20 miles radius of Dublin in either Wicklow or Dublin Mountains. The walks are suitable for all ages and average duration is Three hours with a break for a picnic lunch. Turnout is anything between 10 and 20 people.

A circular is issued a week in advance each month and details posted on the Club Notice Boards and web site. We will also try and get details into the Mainsheet this season. We walk in all weathers; you don’t have to book or even say you are coming – just turn up on the day. If you are not already on the circulation list and wish to be included, email Desmond Campbell, who organises the walks at:
