Snooker News

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailDick_Wharton_1The recession is officially over. The Commodore has won his turkey for Christmas and you could also win one, or a bottle of wine or two, at the pool nights on Monday 7 and December 14. Tony Corcoran is in the Chair and the pool nights have been well supported and great fun. The McWilliams and Elgan Trophy competitions are now in the third round which must be played before Christmas, including the quarter finals, so book your spot. The Final will be played on Friday, January 15, the night of the Preston Ball Auction Dinner. Do come along and support the auction – guests are always welcome. The draw for the Preston Ball will take place on January 7, so make sure your subscription is paid on time. The Doubles Competition is underway and the first round must be played by the end of the year. Last year we had the inaugural of the Father & Son Competition and we expect this year to see a lot more entries. Please enter your names for this and the Billiard Competition on the entry sheets on the Notice Board. This season we hope to replace the cushions on the table as they are badly affecting Roger Bannon’s game and possibly the rest of us also. Now that we have more Inter-Club games to play next February, we have to appear “club like”. Thank you all for your support during the year and to my committee for the endless unpaid hard work (que). Happy Christmas to All, Dick Wharton
