East Coast Cruising Events

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailCAI BannerThe Cruising Association of Ireland (CAI) was established under the aegis of the ISA with the objective of promoting and developing cruising in Ireland. The CAI East Coast Committee chaired by CAI Vice Commodore Derek Harris (HYC & Poolbeg) has representatives from all the East Coast sailing clubs from Skerries to Arklow. It is responsible for coordinating cruising activities on the East Coast.  The clubs are encouraged to organise one or more events each year which are open to members from other clubs. These events are posted and regularly updated on the event page of the CAI website This years list (which is being continuing being added to) has about sixteen open cruises, many of which will interest NYC sailors. These range from short trips such as the very popular Liffey Cruise & Sutton BBQ to events further away such as Bray Sailing Club’s weekend cruise to Caernarfon, the Classic Castles Cruise in North Wales and the Celtic Goodwill Raid to Brittany. Unfortunately the proposed Le Challenge Cote Atlantic organised by NYC looks as if it will not have sufficient support to go ahead. This may be because it was too soon after last year’s successful cruise to Brittany or because it was not advertised early enough. Classic_Castles_Cruise_640x480
