Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailsl_16We are delighted to confirm that Olympic multihull sailor Rob White and a representative of Serina, the manufacturers of SL 16 multihull, will be holding an introductory training weekend in Dun Laoghaire on 17th/18th April 2010 when they will introduce the SL 16 to youth sailors interested in campaigning for the ISAF Youth Worlds in 2012. The SL 16 has been selected by the Dublin Bay 2012 organisers as the multihull to be used at the Youth Worlds in Dun Laoghaire. In a very positive move, as part of this agreement, Serina are making 5 boats available to the organising clubs to help train and develop an Irish multihull team for 2012. The boats will be based at the National Yacht Club till the Mitsubishi Youth Championship after which they will be operated from both the Royal St George and National yacht clubs. It is intended to have the five boats racing in the Mitsubishi event on 1st/2nd/3rd May 2010. The organisers want to hear from sailors interested in taking part in the training weekend or competing in the Mitsubishi Youth Championships. The weekend is being coordinated by Cathy Mac Aleavey. Those interested should contact Cathy (NYC) (mobile 087 948 0801) or Frank O’Beirne (RSGYC) (mobile 087 230 6550).
