Mark Pollock training in NYC 1720 ‘Hoot’ for the Round Ireland

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailmark_pollock_03Following the recent teaming up of adventure athlete and author Mark Pollock and NYC member Mick Liddy for their double handed entry in the round Ireland,Mark (who was a sailing instructor before he lost his sight) has been busy training in the National’s 1720 sportsboat, successfully helming in and out of Dun Laoghaire Marina and around a racing course in Dublin Bay. Mark and Mick will compete in the race itself in an Open 40 under the burgees of the National and Royal North of Ireland Yacht Club’s with the support of sponsor Follow the story of their Round Ireland race preparations on Mark’s blog on They arrived on their Open 40 in the club today, 1st June,¬†after a tough trip from france via the hamble.
