DATE: 13th November, VENUE: CARRIGALINE COURT HOTEL, Carrigaline, Co Cork
TIME: 11:00 – 16:30

This year ICRA has an exciting line up for our annual conference which offers all those attending the opportunity to offer ideas and engage in exchanging constructive opinions to promote and develop the cruiser/racing sector of Irish Sailing.

Next year’s ICRA Nationals in the Royal Cork Yacht Club will be launched and class bands [new division 4] and related issues will be open for discussion.

The Agenda also includes contributions on the single handed offshore front by Barry Hurley who achieved success by winning his Class in the 2009 OSTAR. There will also be an offshore presentation by Peter Ryan ISORA who has re-invigorated offshore sailing on the Irish Sea over the last two years.

There will be a presentation on an innovative concept to develop a 30 Footer one design concept that can also sail under IRC. The idea is that it will be trailable to attend ICRA Nationals and other events around Ireland. Rory Staunton will travel from UK to make this presentation. Its a fresh innovative idea where opinions are welcome.

John Corby and Mark Mills will be present to update us on IRC developments and boat design and their thoughts on where boat design is heading going forward .

Dave Brannigan will give a slide show on ICRA Nationals and Rolex Commodores Cup .

There will be a presentation on the Crew experience of competing in the Rolex Commodores Cup by Prof O Connell from Roxy, Tommy Murphy from Mariners Cove and Eoin Leahy from Antix

These presentations will be followed by an open forum on the RCC experience from a wide range of perspectives – skippers, designers – Mark Mills and John Corby will be present to contribute to the discussion.

All are welcome and the conference will end with the presentation of ICRA Boat of the Year Trophy

This is your cruiser racing forum so please take the opportunity to voice your opinions and influence future policy as we go forward.
