Great turnouts and great support generally. We had just one rainy outing, the soaking at Tulfarris, but a superb course followed by a great night back at the club. Our final outing, the Greystones Christmas Turkey, was followed by fish & Chips in the bar – a wild night, we must repeat that formula. At this point, we have 85 members on our NYC GolfText database, enabling us to communicate rapidly, the latest news and events. This has proved to be highly successful and is very popular with all. You can get a write-up and pictures on all of the above events on the website in the Social / Golf section. For 2011, we are delighted to welcome Jim Murphy onto the committee to keep our financials under control. I am also delighted that Hilda Byrne and Brendan MacConville have agreed to stay on and continue their great work – the society will not work without a strong committee.  Our focus is now gearing up for 2011, and a few items are well worth noting…and diarying…
  1. We are holding a “Golf Society AGM” on Friday 3rd Dec at 7:30pm at NYC, followed by a few drinks. This will ratify your committee for 2011, and will give you a voice in other key decisions (e.g. which courses will we play, etc…)
  2. The Dingle event is planned for mid-June, and is likely to be a 3-day event, and teaming-up with the D2D yachtsmen.
  3. The Kish Trophy, our flagship event, will return to Charlesland, probably in September, and we have a lot of work to do to ensure its success
  4. There is some talk of another “away” event, possibly to the Canaries, but may be to somewhere more local (Bunclody has been mentioned). Friday’s meeting to decide on preferences.
Try to make it to the annual golf meeting on Friday 3rd Dec, we’d like to hear your views.
