NYC Golfers head for Blainroe on Fri 18th March

Blainroe is in superb condition

It is many years since I last played this beautiful course, but driving by last year, I was taken with the way the course has developed. The trees have grown wonderfully well, and the greens have apparently been re-architected. It is in a spectacular location, right on the sea, just a couple of miles past Wicklow town. The good news is that the NYC Golf Society are going to play Blainroe on Friday 18th March. The tee is booked from noon, and there will be plenty of time to finish and get back to the National for 8pm presentation supper…with a difference. This time, we have an after dinner speaker, John Leahy, who will talk about weather systems for sailors, and of course, golfers. As usual, we’d like to hear from any new players, and all are welcome to bring guests. To register for this event, just text the GolfText phone on 086 0784467, or call the office 2805725. Hope to see you all there  –  timesheet in a few days.     (Alan, 9th Mar)
