Close finish in Rush

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailBrilliant sunshine and a course in immaculate condition greeted the NYC Golf Society (30 players) when we arrived at this impressive none-hole course.  Again there were the usual lost souls who couldn’t find the place, it really is well hidden. Once we got going there was some impressive golf, which ended on a three-way tie on 37 points for first place.  Linda Corcoran wone (20 points on the back nine) from Joe Hogan and Padraic Conneely. Joe Buckley had 36 points, a winning score on any other day with visitor Tony Higgins one further back on 35.  Tony used a miserly 36 shots to nefotiate the first nine. The team prize was almost a shoo-in as in the form of Alan Pope, Terry O’Brien and Joe Hogan ran away with it, posting 79 points.  Anne McQuaid, Ann Irwin and Hilda Byrne got the ladies team prize with 70 points. The next outing is another visit to the Plains of Fingal, Skerries Golf Club is the venue.  This is former Commodore Peter Ryan’s home Club so no excuses will be tolerated.  Be there.  Watch out for the web text.
