Thank You from the RNLI – End of Season Race

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailThe RNLI have written to the National Yacht Club to thank the members for their generosity in supporting the Lifeboat with the collection after the End of Season race that amounted to €596.68 It is only through voluntary contributions that the RNLI are able to continue to provide volunteer crews with the best equipment, boats and training needed to save lives at sea. Last year Irish Lifeboats launched 980 times and rescued 905 people. That is 17 people a week being brought to safety after getting into difficulty on the water. Many would have died if it were not for the bravery, skill and training of our volunteer crews. Your contribution will help ensure our lifesaving work continues. It costs €13 million to run the Lifeboat service in Ireland (excluding capital expenditure). As a registered charity we depend on voluntary contributions and legacies for our income and we value your support. Your continues support is of real value to the RNLI and is very much appreciated by everyone in our organisation. Yours sincerely Susan King Branch Secretary.
