To mark the occasion a formal exchange of burgees between the two clubs was held at the London Boat Show on Wednesday with Commodore David Roache of The Little Ship Club, Sir Robert Knox Johnson and Ronan Beirne of the National Yacht Club. The reciprocal arrangement will enable members of the Little Ship Club to make full use of the NYC Ireland facilities at Dun Laoghaire (Dublin). NYC Ireland members will be able to use the Little Ship Club facilities (clubroom, dining, bar, library and meeting rooms) at Bell Wharf Lane on the river Thames in the City of London. Alongside the reciprocal arrangement, NYC Ireland member Ronan Beirne has been appointed as LSC Honorary Port Officer for Dun Laoghaire. The LSC honorary port officer network are located in various ports of call around the world. Ronan received his HPO pennant at the Little Ship Club’s annual HPO dinner on Tuesday 15 January 2013.
