The first day was very windy with wind speeds of over 30 knots. Only 2 races were sailed on this day, and only 17 out of 46 juniors managed to complete a race. Many of the junior fleet decided not to go out to the racecourse on this windy day. The weather was kinder on the second day, with wind speeds up to 16 knots. Both the senior and junior fleets completed 3 races. The regatta fleet had a great day of sailing on the Sunday. Loghlen Rickard, Dara Donnelly, Clare Gorman, Nicola Ferguson and Cliona Coyle all sailed in the senior fleet. Luke Rickard, Natasha Hemeryck, Leah Rickard, Hugh O’Connor, Fiona Ferguson, Conor Gorman, Charlie McCarthy, and Georgia McCarthy sailed in the junior fleet. Billy McCarthy sailed in the regatta fleet. Loghlen came third overall in the senior fleet, and Luke Rickard came third in the junior fleet (see photo). Dara Donnelly also had a good event with a win in the fourth race. Great results for all! For the majority of our junior fleet, this was their first main fleet regional event; a difficult event and they all represented our club well. Well done to all the young sailors from the NYC.  Full results can be found on the IODAI website.
