Golf Society Outing 4th Dec Update

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmaildelgany-golf-club_017905_fullOn Fri 4th Dec., NYC Golf Society had its 7th outing of the year to Delgany Golf Club. This is our traditional Christmas competition, and was played over 14 holes, with the best 12 holes to count.   Delgany was very well presented, and in the pleasant balmy weather, afforded the 25 players a most enjoyable day out. Kevin ‘Bandit’ Blake blew the field to pieces with 31 points leaving the lesser places 7 points behind…we are still awaiting the drug testing results. Well done Kevin. Best of the girls was Roni Dunn on 18, matched by sister Cathy…but great to see Elinor on the podium too.   That evening, the golfers were joined by the NYC Choir, which performed 2 numbers before tucking in to the Christmas fare served up by Cormac and his team. About 50 sat down to eat a delicious meal in a very festively presented JB Room. A quick raffle raised 550 euro to add to Ida’s charity bash upstairs, and this was followed by an even quicker prize presentation.   After that, the guitars came out, with some excellent playing and singing from Ray Duggan, Joe Hogan, guest Andrew Basquille, and the occasional hack from Alan D. Mighty singing also from Ted McC, and the golf hero Kevin. It must have been ok, because nobody left before 1.00am. A great night, we must do it again soon.   Lookout for our 2016 golf programme, which will be out soon.
