Finn Lynch talks to our juniors

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailOn Thursday the 21st July, our Juniors were delighted to welcome Finn Lynch for a talk on his sailing experience leading up to the forthcoming Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Finn began sailing aged 8 and went on to represent Ireland across the globe as a youth sailor. In Toppers; he finished 2nd and 4th place at the World Championships in 2009/2010 and was the first Irish sailor to win the British Nationals. In Laser Radials he finished 2nd at the 2012 ISAF Youth Worlds – the best Irish result ever at this event. He also won the 2012 European Championships, thus mentioning but a few of his outstanding achievements. Since then, Finn has gone on to achieve many accolades in Men’s sailing in the Laser Standard rig: 1st u19 in the 2014 World’s; 4th u21 in the 2014 World’s and 4th u19 in the 2014 Europeans as well as many more. Finn’s talk was followed by a series of questions from our Juniors and many of the children also requested autographs. The Juniors thank Finn for being so generous with his time in an extremely busy period, we were very appreciative. The very best of luck to him and the rest of Team Ireland at the upcoming Olympic Games, we have no doubt that he will do us proud!
