NYC CHOIR BRONZE MEDAL NYC CHOIR ACCREDITED BRONZE CHOIR BY ROYAL ACADEMY MUSIC The NYC choir started up some 2 years ago with a small group of enthusiastic singers. After some weeks of rehearsals under the guidance of our Musical Director Ms. Ealu Thomas we performed at the Christmas Carol Night. The following year rehearsals continued weekly and the choir performed at the Commodore’s Dinner in NYC dining room. Thanks to a very enthusiastic Musical Director EALU our repertoire has increased and the choir now perform a dozen pieces. As part of this process our Musical Director encouraged the Choir to apply for audition to the Royal Irish Academy of Music for accreditation. We performed 2 pieces specially adapted for us by Ealu.  The choir auditioned last May and to our surprise we were successful. The Choir was awarded DISTINCTION with a mark of 91 out of 100. Ealu commented “Congratulations to all of you, I am so delighted and proud of our choir. None of this would have been possible without your dedication, hard work and commitment and I thank you all for your co-operation. This is something to be proud of and you deserve this, well done again! “ THANK YOU EALU FROM ALL OF US EALU NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED WITHOUT YOURENCOURAGMENT AND DEDICATION MORE NEWS!!!!!! UNEXPECTLY EALU SENT US THIS MESSAGE Ealu commented “I have some good news for you. The lovely examiners at the Royal Irish Academy of Music have now invited us back to audition for their esteemed High Achievers award ceremony which will be held on 6th November at the ‘O Reilly Theatre in Belvedere College. To perform at this event, we have to get through an audition which will be held on 9th October at the Royal Irish Academy of Music (time tbc). This is such an unexpected albeit highly motivating situation and I hope you will all be able to attend. We need to be at full strength (both numbers and performance wise) for this audition and give it our best shot.” Choir rehearsals recommenceS Tuesday 6th September 2016 at 7.30pm All welcome Joe Hogan
