Alan Green & Chris Doorly Win Flying Fifteen Frostbite Series

In near perfect conditions for the month of November, fifteen Flying Fifteens turned out at the weekend on what was dubbed ‘Super Saturday’ with six races for the conclusion of the NYC Flying Fifteen Frostbite Series.

Alan and Chris easily won the series with an 18pts overall net margin of 16pts over 2nd placed Stuart Harrison/Tim Sheard.

Alan Dooley / Joe Hickey complete the podium in a tightly fought battle for 3rd overall on equal points (40) with the 4th boat after tie-break and only 1pt ahead of 5th overall!!

Small Craft Register – Irish Sailing want to hear from you!

Earlier this summer Irish Sailing asked boat owners for their experiences of sailing boats abroad, registering boat on the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport’s Part 1 Register, registering with other flag states etc.

Irish Sailing are now requesting a meeting with the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport and would like to ensure your voice is heard. NYC F15s Frostbite Series 2018

The NYC Frostbite Series 2018 will take place in the National Yacht Club on 5 days for Flying Fifteens commencing on Saturday 6th October. There will be back-to-back races on each day of the series

Nominations sought for NYC Sailing Awards!

The General Committee is looking for nomination for the 2018 sailing awards.  Nominations should be sent to secretary@nyc.ie or by using this online form here by close of business on Monday 3rd December 2018.

The awards are listed on the form here and include a new award, the Concorde Plate.

Dublin Bay Armistice Commemoration 11th November 2018

On Sunday next, the 11th November many in Ireland will be remembering the deaths of family members in the war. In the afternoon DBSC will remember its own members who died in the conflict with a brief ceremony before the start of Turkey Shoot racing.

Procedure as follows:
Sound Signal. Reading from the committee vessel of the names of DBSC members killed in action during the First World War. Sound Signal and flags lowered. One minute silence. Sound signal. Flags raised.
Competitors are asked to observe the minute’s silence.

Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta 2019 – NOR & Early Bird Entry

The Notice of Race is now available for Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta 2019 and Online Entry Open for 39 classes in Cruisers – One Design – Dinghies – Classics.
