HYC Lambay Race – Saturday 3rd June 2023

HYC Lambay Race – Saturday 3rd June 2023

Howth Yacht Club is pleased to advise that the Lambay Races will take place on Saturday, June 3rd , this year.
The starting areas will be in the vicinity of Howth Harbour and boats will race north to round Lambay Island before returning to finish beside Ireland’s Eye.
This is a key event of Howth YC’s sailing season and is unique on the Irish sailing calendar in providing the challenges of an offshore race in a manner that allows boats of all sizes to savour  point to point racing around a course that always poses challenges.

Local features such as headlands, inlets, high ground and a range of water depths require decisions about which should be sought or avoided, all the time while crews enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Fingal coast and the islands that mark the north and south ends of the racecourse.

NYC Club Match Racing League – over 5 Monday Nights, starting Monday 29th May

NYC Club Match Racing League – over 5 Monday Nights, starting Monday 29th May

LAST CHANCE TO ENTER!!! - DEADLINE : FRIDAY 2ND JUNE AT 1200!!

The National YC is preparing the return of a match racing league with 5 Monday evenings scheduled in May/June. The league will be competed on the club Elliotts on starboard rounding windward-leeward courses in the harbour.

The league is open to up to 8 teams composed by 3 or 4 sailors. Team members must be 16 or over. We hope to see teams coming from many diverse sections of our Club (U25s, WoW, Instructors...) and from across all normally raced classes (SB20s, Waterwags, Lasers, Keelboats, Flying Fifteens, RS Aeros etc...)

Team changes will be allowed from one night to another to facilitate busy schedules and last minute crew absence as long as the core of 2 sailors including the skipper remain in place for the full duration of the league. There will be no crew swapping facilities on the night.

Each team is guarantied to sail in round one and two. Both these rounds will have up to 6 races per team (providing we have a full entry of 8 teams). Please Click Here to see the proposed format of the League: match race format June 23

As this is the first league of the summer, a simplified approach to team racing will be used keeping it friendly and manageable to teams who may not have match raced before.
