The annual interclub bridge competition between the waterfront yacht club (George, Irish, National - GIN) teams took place on Tuesday 21st March. This year it was the turn of National Yacht Club to host the event and, once again, the NYC team was successful. This was the fourth successive win by the NYC team.
The competition was preceded by dinner and the quality of the meal certainly merited the favourable comments of our visitors. Thanks are due to the management and staff for the excellent service.
Bridge in the Club had to be suspended during the Covid crisis and has only been revived in recent months. All thanks are due to Jackie Flynn who, following the sad loss of her friend and long term bridge partner and long term bridge convener Ida Kiernan, has taken up the task of organising all the bridge events.
Weekly bridge competitions take place in the Club on Thursday evenings. It is a friendly social type of bridge and new members will be warmly welcomed.

The 8th quiz of the season took place on Wednesday, 22nd February, and saw Wizard finally break the spell and weave a bit of magic. After four second-place finishes in a row, they finally won out, in the end by a comfortable 4-point margin.
The Overall Leaderboard (below) now includes discards, and sees Enchantress and Corner Boys tied for the overall lead. However, both those teams can expect the other teams close to them to get closer as earlier scores get discarded. It could all heat up towards the end of the season. Quizmaster anticipates a gripping finale on the 5th April.
The next quiz is on the 8th March @ 8pm sharp. All are welcome.
