Junior Sailing

Ruth II outings for our Juniors

Our juniors had a great night last Wednesday aboard Oyster 62′ Ruth II.
Thank you so much to Liam Shanahan who took four groups of junior sailors out into the bay.
Each of the 30 juniors got a chance to helm the boat and got a tour of Nav systems on board.

We wish you many happy and safe journeys on your new boat.

Conditions were tough with strong tides and shifty winds. Hugh O’Connor finished the first day in the lead and managed to stave off stiff competition on day two winning the overall championship outright.

Caoimhe Seymour battled it out for 4th Place in the 4.2 Rig and Natasha Hemeryck and Caoimhe Byrne gained respectable places in the top half of the fleet. Congratulations to all our sailors.
