Junior Awards Ceremony & Gala Dinner 2023
The 2023 Junior Awards Ceremony will take place on Saturday November 25th from 6.30-10pm.
All of our junior sailors aged 6+ are invited to join. It will be a super evening and there will be prizes galore and lots of exciting spot prizes too with some fun and games to look forward to as well.
Please book and pay for your ticket in advance to help us estimate numbers. We are not able to accept payment on the night.
The price for the child meal is âŹ16 for a three-course meal (Garlic Bread, Lasagne and Ice Cream). It also includes a raffle ticket for each child, so they are in with a chance to win some of the amazing prizes.
The price for the adult meal is âŹ26 for a buffet main course (choice of two dishes) and includes a glass of wine.
29er tryout day – October 29th, 2023 9.30 till 17.00
You are thinking about your transition from a junior class to a youth class, tryout the most successful Youth boat in Ireland!
Come down for a day to tryout the most successful double handed Youth skiff in Ireland. Bring your own boat or take a turn in the club 29er. The day is weather depending as the 29er, although great fun, requires balance and solid basics as it can become a handful in bigger breeze.
The day will start at 9.30 at the NYC, we will have a lunch break before linking with the regular club training in the afternoon. Expected finish around 16.30

Optimist Junior Autumn 2023 Club Training Programme – Registrations now open
Programme details:
Lead coach: Conor Gorman. The lead coach will be assisted by qualified instructors as numbers dictate. The head coach will lead the final clinic.
Start date: Sept 23rd - End Date: Dec 10th
Please note that to facilitate the annual lift out, Boats must be removed from the platform at the latest on October 6th and will be allowed to return for the October 21st training session.
1. Club training: 8 sessions scheduled: Sept 23, Sept 30, Oct 21, Oct 28, Nov 11, Nov 18, Nov 25, Dec 2 -- Costs: âŹ260/sailor
2. Clinic End Of Season (9-10 Dec) -- Costs: âŹ110/sailor
3. Malahide Regatta (Oct 15) -- Head coach in attendance for all classes - 100% subsidized by NYC

29er Junior Autumn 2023 Club Training Programme – Registration Now Open!
Programme Details:
Lead coach: Seafra Guilfoyle. The lead coach will be assisted by experienced skiff sailors/instructors with the input of the club head coach
Start date: Sept 16th - End Date: Dec 3rd
The Autumn programme is dedicated to grow technical and racing skills in the club 29er sailors. Regular club training will be conducted on Sundays with a rigged and ready start time of 13.00 (finish around 17.00). 2 clinics with a full day approach will also be delivered. Both clinics will be open to all Dun Laoghaire club sailors after a short time reserved to NYC based sailors to register. Total numbers may be capped to keep the sessions safe, so don't missout.
