Optimist Connachts 2017 update

13 sailors from NYC headed down to Waterford 15-16 July to compete in the Optimist Connacht Championships. Many thanks to Waterford sailing Club for their warm welcome, especially the amazing weather and wonderful BBQs. Thanks also to coaches Cian Mollen, Adam Hyland, Daan from 8-days a week and Doug Elmes who travelled to Waterford to work with the sailors from the three Dun Laoghaire clubs. NYC Cadet Clare Gorman in Top Ten at Laser 4.7 Worlds

Clare is off to a great start having posted a ten and a four to be tenth overall in the Ladies division of the Laser 4.7 team sailing in the World Championships which began yesterday in Nieuwpoort, Belgium.

The week–long event will consist of 12–races with 350 sailors from around the world.

We wish her all the best for the reminder of the event!

Update on our Junior Regatta

As our Junior Regatta started today with the Launching for both fleets scheduled to commence at 10:00hrs.  The Harbour Fleet took to the water at 10:45 and the Main Fleet at 11:15.  Please see our amazing galleries in the full post

Irish Laser 4.7 team

Good luck to the Irish Laser 4.7 team sailing in the World championships which begin today in Nieuwpoort Belgium. The week- long event will consist of 12 races with 350 sailors from around the world.participating.  NYC member Clare Gorman is pictured on the far right.

Davy NYC Junior Regatta 19th July – Entries now Open!

The National Yacht Club is hosting its annual Junior Regatta on Wednesday 19tht July.

Entry will be online only and will close at 10.00 am on Tuesday 18th July 2017; late entries may be accepted subject to the approval of the Committee at the above rate plus €10.00. There will be no exceptions!

Registration will take place on Tuesday 18th July 16:30 – 18:30 at the NYC Race Office.

Competitors briefing 09:30 on July 19th

Launching for both fleets is scheduled to commence at 10:00hrs with the first warning signal for the Harbour Fleet at 10:45 and the Main Fleet at 11:15.
