TY Update- Powerboat Course in the Sun!

Last weekend our TY sailors completed their National Powerboat Cert  in NYC and are now looking forward to spending time on the water over the summer helping at events.

The First Leg of the Optimist Trials

The first leg of the Optimist Trials took place in Lough Derg Yacht Club from 5th to 7th April.  56 sailors were competing for the coveted green life jackets, awarded only to the top 19 sailors, and also for places on the World, European and International Development Squads.

ISA Youth Nationals 2013 Report

The Laser Radial place at ISAFs this year was narrowly missed by Finn Lynch, NYC, in very close racing. Last years silver medalist still has another year left in this age category so he will be back for more!

Powerboat Course Level 1 and 2

We will be holding a Powerboat levele 1 and 2 course in the NYC on Saturday and Sunday, 20th and 21st April.

Training for Optimist Trails/ OPG Sailors

Four day training for Optimist Trails/ OPG Sailors takes place at the NYC on the following dates –

Sunday 21st April, Saturday 27th April, Sunday 28th April, Sunday 19th May

Clare Gorman Sparkles in the Snow at Braassemermeer

Ten Irish Optimist sailors including six from the NYC (Heather Spain, Dara Donnelly, Hugh Perette, Patrick Coyle, Cliona Coyle and Clare Gorman) travelled to Braassemermeer in Holland for the Magic Marine Easter regatta.
