NYC Speaker Supper – Thursday 18th February

We have an exciting Speaker Supper lined up for Thursday 18th February at which Yvonne Gordon, former NYC member, will give a presentation on her recently launched book “ Journey of Change” in which she follows the all female crew who took part in the 2014/15 Volvo Round the World Race on board their boat Team SCA.

The dramatic stories of the crew, gathered by Yvonne during the race, combined with the engaging images of the onboard reporters Anna-Lena Elled and Corinna Halloran and the exceptional photography of yachting photographer Rick Tomlinson, who is also the book’s photo editor, make this an extraordinary book.

Yvonne will present the members of the National Yacht Club with a  signed copy of the book on the evening.

Information needed on the NYC

The Curator

The Barometer which hangs beautifully on the wall at the end of the National YC Bar for very many years does not seem to have a provenance.

If anyone has any information, on who presented it to the club, when it arrived or any history of where it may have been prior to coming to the National, we would very much appreciate your help.
