The DMYC is pleased to announce that the Annual Kish Race for 2023 will be held on Sunday 24th September with the start taking place from the DBSC Starting Hut (by kind permission) at 11am.

It is hoped that weather conditions will allow for the fleet to race around the Kish Light and back to the finish at the West Pier.

The prizegiving will take place in the DMYC after the completion racing. Along with overall winners, there will also be prizes for classic vessels and one-design boats

NYC’s Tom Dolan Claims Second in Race to Kinsale After Exciting Figaro Leg One Finish

NYC Member Tom Dolan took a career-high second place this morning, sailing into Kinsale to complete the first 610-mile leg of the La Solitaire du Figaro Race.

After rounding the Fastnet Rock, Dolan finished at 08.18 hours into a drizzly Kinsale Harbour in County Cork, 16 minutes behind leg winner Benoit Tuduri, after three days of hard solo sailing from the start in Caen, France.

The ever-popular National Yacht Club table quiz resumes on October 18th next.

Each year, through the winter months, we hold a series of table quizzes every second Wednesday. The quizzes are a very popular and enjoyable social event with questions suited to all tastes and ages. Last year, we had a regular turnout of approximately 100 members and guests that made for entertaining evenings – as long as the Quizmaster plays along!

A demo boat is available from the NYC platform from Saturday 26th August to Sunday 10th September inclusive.

We offer 3h sail trials booking slots as follows: 

- Mondays to Fridays: 1000 to 1300 // 1330 to 1630 // 1700 to 2000

- Saturdays and Sundays: 1000 to 1300 // 1330 to 1630

To recognise the incredible week for Irish Sailing, when Team Ireland’s 29ers won both the World and the European Championships in Weymouth and Stockholm and Finn Lynch qualified Ireland for the Paris 2024 Olympics, Irish Sailing and National Yacht Club are hosting a “Homecoming Celebration” next Saturday 26th August @ 6:30pm.
