Volvo D2D Race 2023 – A new record!! All results in and Michael Chester’s special Start photos gallery

On Thursday 8th at 09:19:14, 'Privateer' skippered by Ron O'Hanley of the New York Yacht Club, crossed the finished line of the 30th anniversary edition of the Dun Laoghaire to Dingle Race, establishing a new Race Record of just 19h19mn14s, at an average speed of 12.422knts!!

All boats are now safe in Dingle (or along the coast for the 14 retirees) marking the end of 'suffering' for all crews who encountered tougher than anticipated wind and sea state conditions.

Special congratulations must also go to Cinnamon Girl, skippered by Cian McCarthy, who finished 2nd overall despite being 'just' a double-handed entry AND to NYC Members Pete Smyth and Crew on their Beneteau Sunfast 3600 'Searcher' in its striking all black livery.

Thank you very much also to Michael Chester for the fantastic photographs taken at the start last Wednesday! (Gallery Here)
