Irish Moth Nationals 2017

The NYC is delighted to host the 2017 Irish International Moth Class National Championship from Thursday 28th September to Sunday 1st October.

Irish and UK Moths as well as a small number of Waszps are expected to take part in this 5th edition of the Irish National Championships and will provide a great show to look at from the East Pier.

Double World Champion Nathan Outteridge is coming to take part and will be a great draw to attract competitors from abroad!

Flying Fifteen Open Evening with NYC Adult Training and Tuesday Ladies

A fun and successful evening was had out on the DBSC race course by all as the Flying Fifteen class held an open evening for those who attended the NYC Adult Training courses during the summer. The idea devised by Committee members Helen Cooney and Chris Doorly was to give those who attended the course another opportunity to sail and keep the interest going after the course had finished.  Read more including to view our picture gallery

NYC Young talents shine at Irish Laser Nationals

 Congratulations to NYC Cadet Finn Lynch, the 2017 Irish Laser Full Rig National Champion, Ella Hemeryck, 2nd in the Ladies Radial Class and to Claire Gorman, 1st 4.7 Lady and 4th Overall in the 4.7 Class.

Irish Solo Sailior Tom Dolan

This July the 2017 Mini Transat Race, solo sailor Tom Dolan was in the National Yacht Club, to coach some friends out in the bay on an evening of fresh winds.

In June, Dolan got on the podium in the Mini-Fastnet Race despite being fouled by a fishing net. That same month, he was in second in the 500 Mini-en-Mai Race. In May, he finished second in the 500 Mini-en-Mai Race but was leading for a lot of it. And in a much needed development that month, Dolan also signed Smurfit Kappa as a sponsor

Keith Poole/Ian Mathews win the Facet Jewellers F15 Holiday Cup

Dublin Bay through everything in its armoury at our courageous OOD Brian Mathews of the National YC, in endeavouring to organise the racing, for a great fleet of 13 Flying Fifteen’s who challenged for the Facet Jewellers Holiday Cup , very kindly presented by Pat Shanahan.
