Enda O’Coineen’s ‘Kilcullen Team Ireland’ Vendee Globe boat at the NYC this Saturday

NYC overseas’ Member Enda O’Coineen will moor his IMOCA 60 ‘Kilcullen Team Ireland’ on the NYC pontoons on Saturday 3rd September around high water (1130 to 1330). Enda is entering this impressive racing machine (20% faster downwind than a Volvo Ocean 65′) in what the public has now nicknamed ‘The Everest of the Seas’, the Vendee Globe Race!

This is the first time ever that an Irish Skipper has entered the race and this is a unique opportunity for NYC Members to come down and see a Vendee Globe boat in the flesh as close as can be! Read the full post for more on the Vendee Globe and on Enda’s participation…

Fireball Nationals winners

Congratulations to our NYC members Noel Butler and Stephen Oram in winning the Fireball National Championships held in Howth on the weekend of the 12/14th August.

Well done guys on a great result in very challenging conditions. This was also the 6th National title for Noel – an amazing achievement !

HYC Annual Dinghy Regatta – Sunday 28th August

The HYC our hosting their annual Dinghy Regatta on Sunday 28th August.

The main Dinghy fleets are Optimists, Toppers, Lasers, 420s and Mirrors but we welcome other dinghies who can race in the Sundries division under a PY handicap.  

DBSC Racing & Sailing Supper Moved to Wednesday Night 24th August

The DBSC Racing and the Sailing Supper has being moved to Wednesday Night 24th August, because of the homecoming event for Annalise Murphy on the Thursday 25th August.
