1720 Racing Youth Squad

The National Yacht Club is entering one of its 1720s in the DBSC Mixed Sportboat Class series as a development path from dinghy to keelboat racing for our young talents.

This is a fun race and the emphasis is on participation and having a good time! Places are limited to 5¬†crew (the skipper is appointed by the Club for each race) on a first come first served basis so book fast…

…yes but, who do they belong to? Read the full post to find out!

NYC launches revamped Adult Sail Training Programmes

Based on previous years experience and now enhanced by our expanded fleet of Club boats geared towards Adult Training (for memory: one 1720, three RS Ventures and four Wayfarers), we have reconfigured the Club’s adult sail training programmes from a short and intensive three weeks course to a ten weeks one focused towards helming our boats and socialising in our Clubhouse! For additional details and registration, please read the full post!

Dunlaoghaire Sailability extend their courses to Adults

Dunlaoghaire Sailability which have been providing sailing for children with sensory disabilities for a number of years are now extending their courses to Adults. We are hoping to run the adult course over four Sunday afternoons from mid-June.

Call for Volunteers 2016!

Have you noticed the new permanent little orange tab on the left-hand side of the Club’s homepage?

We’re are calling on all willing members to let us know they are there to help!
We need lots of volunteers to run the events we do in the Club…from Adult Sail Training to Junior events and training sessions to Racing events hosted by the Club.

It is a great way to get involved in your Club and to get to know other members.  There are many roles in both junior section and Club events, and the junior sailors love to see their parents involved in their sport!

So don’t hesitate! Click on the orange tab on the website or in the newsletter and fill up a role!

Thanking you all in advance on behalf of all the existing volunteers running junior training, junior events, adult training, racing events etc etc etc…

Club lift-in in 360 video…as if you were there

Thanks to Stuart Masterson for setting up his amazing 360 camera to record the lift-in. Unfortunately, due to technical problems, setting up the crane took most of the recording time and we are left with only about 1m30s of lifting footage…still, very impressive technology! See it in action here
