NYC Boathouse takes delivery of 9 sea-kayaks

Following the very positive feedback and great usage of the Club’s paddle-boards, the N.Y.C., thanks to the support of the Sport Capital Grant 2015 programme, has decided to carry-on diversifying its water sports activities and has just taken delivery of 9 RTM Ocean Duo sea-kayaks. The RTM Ocean Duos can easily take 2 adults or even 3 people “on deck” with a child in the middle or 3 teenagers…

ISA Club Racing Survey Reveals ‘Segmented’ Irish Dinghy Racing Scene

Keelboat racing accounts for about two thirds of active racing sailors, a thriving junior single-hander dinghy ‘pathway’ scene is the envy of all other fleets and it makes up 31% of all dinghy sailors (51% of dinghies), according to a new Irish Sailing Association (ISA) club racing survey published recently.
According to the report, there is a total of just under 7,000 sailors actively racing in Ireland, however, The first snapshot of Irish club racing reveals little new of the ‘segmented’ national racing fleet, but provides a welcome and robust basis for the ISA, clubs, classes and sailors alike, on which to build and evolve…

Replacement launch on its way to Ireland

Following the sad loss of the Club’s launch “Alva”, an extensive search to find a suitable replacement (new or second-hand) was carried out.

We are happy to announce that a French built craft (by Ordoqui Socoa boatyard in South West France) is just on its way from to enter a refit programme in Malahide Boatyard and Marina.

DBSC Announces New Mixed Sportsboat Class for 2016!

Dublin Bay Sailing Club has taken the decision to support the formation of a mixed sportsboat class to join the twenty other classes racing under the Club’s burgee in Dublin Bay. The decision follows a meeting of the Bay’s sportsboats interests earlier this month…more details.

ISA introduces new online ‘Sailing Passport’

The ISA Sailing Passport is an On-line logbook, using the ChecKlick platform, in which each sailor will be able to record their individual sailing activities whether racing, cruising or just having fun on the water, and which, when used in conjunction with ISA Training Courses and ISA Clubs / Training Centres, will also allow participants (and their Instructors) track their progress in acquiring and developing the skills required for that course.
