FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmailAnother successful Bridge season has come to an end.  I would like to thank the members for their continued support on both Monday and Thursday evenings. The Monday evenings will continue for as long as the members wish, as Monday evening in the Club is rather quiet.  All members, including the Thursday players are more than welcome to attend.  It will be fun, I intend to go along myself and hope other will join me.  Catherine McCann will continue to run the sessions. We ended the season with our usual end of season supper on April 12th, which was very well attended by the members and their friends. Our main competition, the Gin Cup (George, Irish & National) which is an annual Inter-Club Bridge Tournament took place on Tuesday 20th March in the Royal St George Yacht Club, we had a superb meal, and a most enjoyable evening.  The National played extremely well throughout the competition that is until the last round, we were leading until then!  The Royal St George had a great last round and emerged the winners.  Congratulations to them on their success. The Flag Officers representing each Club seemed to enjoy the evening as well and I would like to thank them for their support. If members are interested in a beginners course at the NYC in the Autumn, please email me at  A beginners class will depend on numbers wishing to attend, minimum 10.  I will need to know by the end of August if there is sufficient interest. The new Season will commence on Monday evening 23rd September @ 7.30pm to 10.00pm.  Thursday 26th September at 7.30pm until approximately 10.30/11.00pm. Please note we will commence the season with supper on Thursday 26th September for all Bridge players, both Monday and Thursday groups. Finally I would like to thank the staff of the NYC for looking after us so well each Monday and Thursday evening throughout the season. Enjoy the Summer, I may see some of you on the water!
