Barry Hayes from UK Sailmakers is presenting his very popular talk on 'Top Tips for Sailors' in the National Yacht Club on Thursday 6th February from 7.30pm

The presentation will be in 2 parts:

Part A: Racing / Cruising boat optimisation
Part B: Learn to service your deck hardware (winches and cars, both manual or electric versions)

The NYC is delighted to announce that Mr. Gearoid O'Riain, a long time member of the Club, has agreed to succeed Mr. Jim Gorman as our resident tutor for our 'Enhanced International Certificate of Competency' (I.C.C.) courses going forward.

Following the cancellation of our first course, the Club is delighted to be in a position to reschedule this valuable course (I.C.C.is now required by most Yacht Chartering Companies Worldwide) albeit starting at the later date of 20th January (previously advertised as starting on Monday 13th).

The course is limited to 12 participants on a first come first served basis!

Learn how to sail or improve on your sailing skills through the Adult Sail Training programme at the National Yacht Club!

Now taking registrations for our second (and last) course of 2019 starting in July. Choose between Monday nights or Wednesday nights:

– 6 sessions, starting on Wednesday 17th July evening (meeting from 5.30pm to 9pm)
– 6 sessions, starting on Monday 22nd July evening (meeting from 5.30pm to 9pm)

Adult Sail Training – Registrations Now Open for Course starting 3rd Week May 2019

Registrations are now open for our 1st Adult Sail Training Course of 2019 running in May / June.

You can choose either Monday or Wednesday night: 

– 6 sessions, starting on Monday 20th May evening (meeting from 5.30pm to 9pm)
– 6 sessions, starting on Wednesday 22th May evening (meeting from 5.30pm to 9pm)

For quality of tuition and to maximise active participation of the candidates, we limit the courses to 15 participants per session...So be quick to register!!

We offer various discount schemes to members and returning participants. You can also join the National Yacht Club and avail of one Adult Sailing Course for free.

Adult Sail Training – Registrations for course 2 now open!

The NYC is running Adult Sail Training courses for all levels (newcomers, rusty sailors, improvers...) starting on Monday 23rd July or Wednesday 25th.

You can choose to either attend the Monday or Wednesday evening classes running for 6 weeks from 18:30 to 21:00
The costs are €260 for non-members and €180 for members.

The courses will use 1720 Sportboats,  RS Ventures and Wayfarers. On the water sessions will be weather permitting.

Courses will be run under the ISA Small Boat Sailing Scheme by fully qualified ISA instructors.

I.S.A. Local Race Officer Course

The ISA is organising a one day 'Local Race Officer' course on Saturday 03rd February in Bray Sailing Club. The course is delivered by International Race Officer, Jack Roy!
Course times are 10:00 to 17:00 with a modest participation fee of €20.
